THOUGHT
Defintion and Using Thoughts (Conjunction)
Though as a conjunction (conjunction) starts an adverbial clause and relates it to the main clause in a complex sentence. The adverbial clause can be in front or in the middle of a sentence. If in front of a sentence, a comma is usually pinned afterwards to separate it from the main clause.
Though at the Beginning of Sentence:
adverbial clause (though + S + V +/- ...) +, + main clause (S + V +/- ...)
Thoughts at the End of Sentences:
main clause (S + V +/- ...) + adverbial clause (though + S + V +/- ...)
Penggunaan Kata Thought Dalam Simple Past Tense
- I Thought I would never see you again. (Aku pikir akan tidak akan melihatmu lagi)
- We thought it would be great to built a tent on the backyard for the sleepover. (Kami pikir akan sangat bagus untuk membangun tenda di halaman belakang untuk acara menginap)
- She finally got what she thought she would never get. (Dia akhirnya mendapatkan apa yang dia kira dia tidak akan dapatkan)
- We never thought that we would be this close. (Kita tak pernah mengira bahwa kita akan sedekat ini)
Penggunaan Kata Thought Dalam Perfect Tense
- She has thought about getting much money when she only worked as a waiter. (Dia telah berpikir tentang mendapatkan banyak uang saat dia hanya bekerja sebagai pramusaji)
- My mom hasn’t thought that I could get my own hand phone. (Ibuku belum berpikir bahwa aku bisa mendapat handphone-ku sendiri)
- They have never thought they would experience this much loss. (Mereka belum pernah mengira mereka akan mengalami kerugian sebesar ini)
Thought Sebagai Noun
- I can’t get rid of the thought of losing him. (Dia tidak bisa menghilangkan pikiran akan kehilangannya)
- When the night comes, it’s getting harder to avoid this bad thought. (Saat malam tiba, semakin sulit untuk menghindari pikiran buruk ini)
- Every person has their own thought about something. (Setiap orang memiliki pemikiran mereka sendiri tentang sesuatu)
- Although they have different thoughts about the project, they still manage to work together. (Meskipun mereka memiliki pemikiran berbeda tentang proyek itu, mereka masih bisa bekerja bersama)
