Biography of RA. Kartini

 

Raden Adjeng Kartini or RA. Kartini has the full name Raden Adjeng Kartini Djojo Adhiningrat. He was born on April 21, 1879 in Jepara, Central Java.

RA Kartini is a Javanese figure and Indonesian National Hero. Kartini is known as a pioneer in the rise of Indigenous women of the archipelago, who are also national heroes who persistently fight for the emancipation of women.

RA Kartini is also known as a woman who pioneered equality between women and men in Indonesia

Who was born in a noble family from a father named Raden Mas Adipati Ario Sosroningrat, son of Prince Ario Tjondronegoro IV, who served as Regent of Jepara.

While his mother named M.A. Ngasirah, does not come from aristocratic descent but is just an ordinary citizen, the son of a kiai or religious teacher in Telukawur, Jepara.

From his father's side, Kartini's lineage can be traced to Hamengkubuwana VI. The lineage of Regent Sosroningrat can even be traced back to the Majapahit Kingdom palace. Since Prince Dangirin became regent of Surabaya in the 18th century, Sosroningrat's ancestors filled many important positions in Pangreh Praja.
